Dersch Design & Engineering had the opportunity to be mentored by Michael Baker International as part of the Calmentor Program. The Calmentor Program is a joint effort sponsored by Caltrans District 11, SANDAG, the District 11 Small Business Council, the City of San Diego, and ACEC with the intent of increasing the pool of small firms participating in transportation projects by providing them opportunities to network and partner with larger, established firms.
Dersch Design & Engineering and Michael Baker International were one of four mentor/protege teams to receive a Calmentor Award for Outstanding Performance in the 2019-2021 Calmentor Cycle.

Dersch Design & Engineering was recognized by SD Metro Magazine as One of San Diego’s Best Companies Under 50 Employees. SD Metro only selected ten companies for this prestigious honor in 2020, and DDE is grateful to have been included alongside some of San Diego’s finest organizations.

Dersch Design & Engineering ranked No. 20 on the 2019 San Diego Business Journal’s Top 100 Fastest-Growing Private Company list. The list is based on the firm’s percentage of verified new growth from 2016 and 2018. DDE earned its rank with a reported 148.5% increase. “It’s also exciting to announce a 6-year milestone. We've seen 2981% growth since our founding in 2013,” said Brian Dersch.

Founder and CEO Brian Dersch received the Gaslamp Award at this year's Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) awards ceremony on December 3rd. The award is given to a young member who has exhibited outstanding leadership in support of the SAME mission. SAME is the only nonprofit professional engineering education organization that actively promotes the advancement of both individual technical knowledge and the collective engineering capabilities of governments, the uniformed services and private industry.

Founder and CEO Brian Dersch, P.E. LEED AP was recognized by the San Diego Business Journal as one of San Diego’s NEXT Top Business Leaders Under 40 in the Build Environment category. According to the San Diego Business Journal, the publication received more than 300 nominations for its inaugural program. Dersch and his family, along with firm representatives, attended the inaugural Journal event on August 14, 2018 at the Westin San Diego Gaslamp Quarter. The recipients were also profiled in the August 27. Honorees were selected based on their personal accomplishments, community involvement and career achievements.

Founder and CEO Brian Dersch, P.E., LEED AP, was recognized as one of San Diego’s 2017 40 Under 40 brightest young leaders by SD METRO Magazine. The 17th annual awards ceremony was held on September 26, 2017. Criteria for the honor included business and professional achievements along with community involvement. It was noted that Dersch demonstrates vision, enthusiasm and determination. As an exemplary corporate citizen, he is helping businesses and communities throughout California through his electrical and renewable engineering work for higher education, federal government, public utilities, commercial, and microgrid projects.
